Private duty nursing provides continuous, one-to-one nursing care for children whose conditions require close and ongoing clinical attention. Unlike a brief visit, a private duty nurse stays with your child for extended shifts — often several hours at a time, including overnights — so there is always a trained professional watching over the details that keep your child safe.
This level of care lets medically fragile children live at home instead of in a facility, and lets parents sleep, work, and care for their other children knowing a skilled nurse is present.

Covered through GAPP
Private duty nursing hours are approved through the Georgia Pediatric Program based on your child's documented medical needs. For qualifying families there is no out-of-pocket cost, and our care coordinators manage the full enrollment process for you.
